To cherish the recollections of our homes and the birthplace of ourselves and our forefathers, to promote good fellowship among Italians and their descendants in this their adopted City and Country, and to promote an appreciation of Italian arts, culture, and science.

Meetings and Events


The Italian Society of Savannah hosts three quarterly meetings, open to all members. They are held on the second Monday in January, July and September. The schedule for the calendar years 2014 and 2015 are:

We also host a spring social in April, as well as our annual Columbus Day dinner in October.

We are excited to announce a special event for Italian Society of Savannah members and their guests. New member Chef Michael Romano, of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, has created a terrific five-course menu with wine pairings for each course. We have reserved our own room at Ruth’s Chris for Thursday, August 13. We plan to begin the evening at 6 p.m.

This is not a regular Italian Society event, rather it’s a special program we’ve designed in response to member requests for enhanced social offerings. Consequently, the evening is open to anyone you invite, while each member is responsible for his own (and his party’s) cost(s). Dinner is $85++ per person, and includes a unique wine pairing with each course. We are subject to a guaranteed minimum, so we’ll need roughly 20 RSVP confirms by EOD Monday, August 9. Chef Michael has created a great menu and will work hard to ensure an excellent evening. Given the culinary program, this event seems like a great value. Please show your support for Michael and your Society and your interest in strengthening fellowship among our group by attending and bringing your friends and family.
